I have the complete original set, intact. I have built it into a 5' square troop barracks structure with modified headquarters (with brig and mess hall) and gate (guard house). It also has an officers' row, barracks, infirmary, chapel, off/enlisted married housing, sutler's store, blacksmith, armory. The walls are min. 14 dots deep. The levels lift off showing the spaces and furniture. The 4 gates are wider and higher to allow stages and wagons to pass; gates are of hinged logs. Extra troopers (squad tented), horses and wagons are parked as in "Rio Grande." The Fort is east of my redone Western Town consisting of a saloon, sheriff (office and gallows), stable (stalls and fire team pump), bank, general store, Wells Fargo/stage office, church, cantina and six houses with an Indian village to the north. Now, it sits on two-6'x8' and 2-4'x4' and a 4'x8'; the platform is detachable and rollable - to change site.

I never thought I would get this set due to its price but was over the moon when I unwrapped my birthday presents one year. Loved it so much along with the rest of the western theme

I have a nephew now who is 5 years old who has fallen in love with Lego as I did when I was a child. Last Christmas when I was home, my mom found our Legos & we spent Christmas Day building this set. it took a bit longer than usual because all the sets were jumbled together & not sorted. we enlisted help from every member of our family & it was a special memory for all of us! Amazingly, my pieces were all there. my mom has taken each instruction booklet & has built the other sets, so when we get together in July, we will spend time building, not hunting! Our time together is rare. I live in NYC & he lives in TX!
Mason Trinidad rated this set 5 of 5 stars 10/26/2020overall, this set is probably my favorite! it took a long time to build, but it was totally worth it in the end. i play with it all day! my favorite feature is in the HQ office where you can drop mini-figs into the jail, or lock them out of the fort using the trap doors. I also like the secret coin stash right next to the fort. I give this set a rating of 5.
