What is an Electronic Transcript?
The Electronic Transcript we provide is a PDF document that has security features built in. In addition to the image of your academic transcript, the PDF file also contains technology that will confirm the validity of the transcript when the recipient opens it.
What does an Electronic Transcript look like?
The PDF looks like our paper transcript and contains academic information that is identical to the paper transcript. Our transcript key will be the final page in the Electronic Transcript we send rather than appearing on the back of each sheet of a paper transcript.
Who accepts Electronic Transcripts?
We can’t control the recipient’s decisions, but we stand behind the validity of the Electronic Transcript. Many transcript users prefer PDF (electronic) documents. If you are unsure, contact the intended recipient.
How do I know if the Electronic Transcript is real?
When you open the PDF (using a current version of Adobe Reader) a connection via the internet will automatically attempt validation of the document. If it’s valid a blue-ribbon icon will appear on the transcript.
How do I receive the Electronic Transcript? What do I need?
The only requirements are an email account, internet access, an up-to-date browser, and the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software. The recipient does not need to have an account with the vendor.
How is the Electronic Transcript delivered?
The recipient will receive two emails, an initial email notifying them the document is available. When they click the link in the initial email, a second will be sent which includes the authentication information necessary to download the document.
NOTE: The transcript itself is not emailed to the recipient. Rather the recipient receives an email with a link that allows them to download the transcript. If you are a recipient who may receive many transcripts from Parchment, you can create an account with them to simplify the receipt of transcripts.
Can I print the Electronic Transcript?
We allow printing of the transcript.
Can I forward the Electronic Transcript to someone else?
The transcript will not be certified as valid for anyone other than the original recipient. Also, note U.S. law states only the owner of the record can authorize transfer of the transcript, so forwarding the transcript may not be legal.
How long do I have to download the transcript?
30 days. If it’s not downloaded by then, the sender will need to request another transcript.
What if the recipient says they did not receive the transcript?
Double-check the email address you provided us. Ask the recipient to check their Spam or Junk Mail folder.
Is my transfer credit on my transcript?
Your Concordia transcript only summarizes the transfer credit hours we accepted. For records of individual courses taken at other institutions, you will need to request official transcripts from those institutions.
How soon will the recipient get my transcript?
Both paper and electronic transcripts orders are processed daily. Verification of requestor identity and a check for financial holds occur before processing. Once that is completed and clear, electronic transcripts are produced with notices delivered by email quickly after that. Please allow up to 12 business days for delivery of a paper transcript after your order is processed.
Can I get an unofficial transcript?
Concordia does not provide unofficial transcripts. Current (and recent) students who have access to our portal have access to their academic records through the student portal. Those without portal access must order an official transcript.
Why do I need to provide consent?
A federal law requires us to obtain your permission to release your personal information to a third party. We can document your consent by having your signature on a paper or by you verifying your identity through this system.
Official VS unofficial transcripts: What is the difference?
An official transcript is one sent directly from Concordia University, Nebraska to the receiving college, business, institution or person.
Please note: While your order is placed through Parchment, all the actual transcript records are maintained by Concordia University, Nebraska.
Unofficial transcripts are those issued for use by the student for their personal use. Unofficial transcripts cannot be used to transfer to another college or university. Both the official and unofficial transcript contain the same academic information: a list of courses, grades, credits awarded and graduation date. Transcripts are legal documents, there is a $10 fee for each transcript ordered.
Current/recent students may obtain a web display of their grades through Concordia's student portal.
